El factor suerte.
Una de las cosas más excitantes del fútbol es sentirse capaz uno mismo de dar una explicación convincente para cada partido y para cada tendencia. Pasan tantas cosas a la vez que el ojo aficionado termina por fijarse sólo en la pelota y a partir de ahí emite sus conclusiones. Por eso, el recurso a la buena o mala suerte es tan usual, porque parece colocarnos en disposición de distinguir lo meritorio del azar, lo que realmente nos excita como aficionados.
Haciendo memoria, uno de los resultados más inesperados fue el del célebre Maracanazo, la final del Mundial de 1950 en que, contra todo pronóstico, Uruguay se impuso a Brasil en Río y sumió a toda la nación en una histeria depresiva común. Nadie supo explicar aquella pesadilla y más allá de motivos futbolísticos, el país terminó por asumir como ciertas algunas demostraciones peregrinas. Así, el meta de aquel infortunado equipo, Barbosa, declaraba en 1993
: "En Brasil, la máxima pena que se puede imponer por un delito es de treinta años. Yo llevo cumpliendo cuarenta y tres por uno que no cometí". Le acababan de prohibir el acceso a una concentración de Brasil por gafe ...
Son los riesgos de recurrir a la suerte como factor decisivo en el fútbol, y lo cierto es que el pobre Barbosa pagó su pena de por vida, cuidando el césped de Maracaná hasta su muerte.
En el fondo, es el mismo argumento de casi siempre (uno tiene claras un par de ideas, no muchas más): como el fútbol se alejó de la pelota, cada vez hay más equipos que viven del detalle. Sólo les interesa el balón de vez en cuando, sólo hacen por tenerlo si detectan cercano el momento puntual que esperan, así que el ojo aficionado sólo repara en sus intentos meritorios a ratos.

No recuerdo la final que comentas de 1950,(no estaba ni pensada por mis padres, tan siquiera sé si ellos se conocían, se me abrió una duda ;-), pero perder en Río tuvo que ser ... no encuentro palabras. Yo me pregunto donde se metieron esos jugadores...
No crees absolutamente nada en la suerte futbolísticamente hablando??? Yo sí, yo creo que todo se trabaja, que el azar por sí sólo no existe, pero sí creo que hay gente "con flor" y gente que no la tiene.

Generalmente en la vida hay pocas cosas movidas por la suerte , normalmente el que se lo trabaja gana , o ¿ acaso el Real Madrid de los Diestéfanos ó de la quinta del Buitre ó los galacticos sin olvidarnos del barÇa de Cruif ( no se si se escribe así aunque algunos le decía Croif) o el Dream team , ganaban por el factor suerte ? Solo recuerdo dos casos de suerte suprema, cuando el PSV y el Manchestere ganaron su última copa de europa .
Posiblemente el Maracanazo , como el Centernariazo fueron merecidos.

Yo, como Silvi pienso que hay gente que nace tocada por una varita. Es cierto que resulta estúpido atribuir todas tus desgracias futbolísticas a la mala suerte.

Como cada vez son más las victorias por un gol y cada vez se ganan más partidos en jugadas de estrategia, tendemos a darle mayor importancia a los pequeños detalles que al partido en general.
No creo en la suerte en el fútbol; con suerte puedes ganar un partido, pero no un campeonato. El trabajo bien hecho no conlleva casualidad.

El Maracanazo fue un golpe nacional para Brasil; hubo hasta suicidios, los jugadores estuvieron varias semanas sin poder salir a la calle ...
Hay un libro estupendo de Paulo Perdigao sobre aquella derrota y sus consecuencias que te recomiendo.
Por supuesto que la suerte es un componente más del fútbol, pero no es tan determinante como nos quieren hacer pensar. Hay casualidades, pero muy pocas. Creo más en las causalidades.

Unu detalle decide un partido, y puede darse el caso que sea casualidad. Es un partido, y toda conclusión es siempre parcial.
Pero el fútbol sólo funciona y se xplica de verdad en ciclos y temporadas, ahí reside el valor de los resultados y del trabajo. Y, como le decía a Silvi, ahí entra en juego la causalidad y no la casualidad.
